Theoretical Yield Calculator

Use this free theoretical yield calculator to calculate theoretical yield and percent yield from the limiting reagent.

How the theoretical yield calculator works

Moles of reagent = mass ÷ molar mass. Moles of product = moles × mole ratio. Theoretical yield = moles of product × product molar mass. Percent yield = actual ÷ theoretical × 100.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find the limiting reagent?

Calculate the product each reagent could make; the one that makes the least is limiting.
