Wheel Offset Calculator

Compare wheel inner and outer position changes from wheel width and offset.

Formula and assumptions

Uses nominal wheel width and offset only; actual fitment depends on tire, wheel design, suspension and vehicle.

Results depend on the inputs and assumptions shown. Check units and independently verify important decisions.

Frequently asked questions

What does wheel offset mean?

Wheel offset is the distance between the wheel’s mounting surface and its centerline, usually expressed in millimeters. Positive and negative values place the wheel differently relative to the hub.

Does this guarantee a wheel will fit my vehicle?

No. Fitment also depends on bolt pattern, center bore, brake clearance, tire size, suspension, fenders and vehicle-specific geometry.

What is the difference between wheel width and offset?

Wheel width is the distance between the tire-bead seats; offset describes the mounting surface position relative to the wheel centerline. Both affect inner and outer clearance.
